A reading and discussion with Tony Trigilio, author of Allen Ginsberg's Buddhist Poetics
Allen Ginsberg's Buddhist Poetics revives questions of poetics, religious authenticity, and political efficacy in Ginsberg's prophetic poetry. Author Tony Trigilio examines Ginsberg's Buddhism as an imperfect but deepening influence on the major poems of his career.
Tony Trigilio's newest collection of poetry is Historic Diary (forthcoming, BlazeVOX Books). He also is the author of the book of criticism, Allen Ginsberg's Buddhist Poetics (Southern Illinois University Press). He teaches at Columbia College Chicago, where he co-edits the poetry magazine Court Green.
