Celebrating 14 Years of Alternating Currents Live with a Music Marathon & Benefit!
Woodland Pattern Book Center hosted it's first ever Music Marathon & Benefit in support of Alternating Currents Live (ACL) music series. ACL had its official inauguration in September 1995 with a solo performance by Dutch saxophonist Luc Houtcamp. Hal Rammel, ACL's curator, had already been on 91.7 WMSE-FM when Anne Kingsbury & Karl Gartung invited him to extend the show into live concerts at Woodland Pattern. The concert is then aired the following Sunday on 91.7 WMSE-FM. All money raised will go towards the Alternating Currents Live series.
We asked that each music marathon participant perform 10 minutes of musicjazz, folk, hip hop, rock, instrumental, experimental, etc. or any combination, and raise AT LEAST $25 in pledges. Individual pledges could be for any amountmusicians were encouraged to ask family, friends, neighbors, your mechanic, and anyone else you encounter regularly to support their music and support Woodland Pattern with a pledge.
