| Friday, April 29, 7pm $2 Woodland Pattern Experimental Film/Video series Presented by the UWM Department of Film 720 East Locust Street, Milwaukee intimacies of the small: a night of personal, diaristic films which were constructed—and which will be viewed—through the Super8 film apparatus. This evening's program will present a selection of canonical as well as practicing film-makers who haven't given up on the small gauge as a legitimate medium in and of itself. The Super8 films to be screened will offer quotidian sketches, city mappings, family portraits, memories pursued. Titles include: Gary Adlestein's S-8 Diaries: 1987/89 (1987/89) Marjorie Keller's Film Notebook Part:1 (1975) Saul Levine's Whole Note (2000) Bill Creston's Runner (1981) Kenji Onishi's Celluloid Memory (1993) intimacies of the small was curated by Matt Newman, a local filmmaker who himself hasn't given up on the small gauge as a legitimate medium in and of itself. |
