A Karen Carpenter-loving gay hairdresser falls helplessly in love with a stray skinhead who he invites into his home. LaBruce's daring, very funny, sexually upfront, and, indeed, strikingly romantic film—a remake, in fact, of Robert Altman's "That Cold Day in the Park”—is per Amy Taubin, then of the Village Voice, "sweeter than Warhol, subtler than Kuchar, sexually more explicit than Van Sant." (16mm on DVD, b&w/sound, 73 min., 1991)
