Woodland Pattern Experimental Film/Video Series
Presented by the UWM Department of Film
Sarah Buccheri presents Kimberly Miller
Tonight's program presents a selection of video work by artist
Kimberly Miller. Miller appears in each video, incorporating performance
art, monologue, stand-up, and modern dance into pieces that are poetic and
political. Her onscreen presence is simultaneously commanding and
nonchalant, wry and grave.

She speaks, runs, balances, contorts as if in
front of a mirrorbut an extraordinary two-way mirror, on which she can
both see herself and those on the other side: us, the gathered spectators.
Her presentational and formal methods recognize both Miller's private
experience of shooting the video, and the public experience of screening
that video for others. She will be present at the screening and will be
interviewed by the presenter, Sarah Buccheri.
