Small Press Month: March 2008 |
|
The life's blood of contemporary and modern literature is in the custodianship of so-called small publishers. Without them there is no future for literature.
Walter Mosely
In celebration of Small Press Month, a nationwide promotion highlighting the valuable work produced by independent publishers, from March 1-March 31, a string of independent, literary events will be taking place from coast-to-coast, showcasing some of the most diverse, unique, and significant voices being published today. Small Press Month, which takes place every year in March, is a grass-roots effort to raise awareness about the pressing need for broader venues of literary expression. Please join us for readings by small press authors Ellen Bravo (The Feminist Press), Richard Hedderman (Parallel Press), Tom Hibbard (Otoliths), and poet & publisher Patrick F. Durgin (Kenning Editions).
