This chapbook of new photography from Rachel Eliza Griffiths also features poems from Reginald Dwayne Betts, Jericho Brown, Natalie Diaz, Ross Gay, Aracelis Girmay, Rickey Laurentiis, Kamilah Aisha Moon, Safiya Sinclair, Tracy K. Smith, R.A. Villanueva, and Phillip B. Williams.

bruise bullet flower documents the strength, vulnerability, and beauty of black, brown, and mostly queer-identified individuals living under the daily threat of gun violence in the United States.

Woodland Pattern Book Center designed this chapbook in celebration of bruise bullet flower’s debut exhibition at the center in spring 2019. Both the exhibition, chapbook publication, and a reading and talk by Griffiths were facilitated by Woodland Pattern's participation in What Is It, Then, Between Us?: Poetry & Democracy, the Poetry Coalition's third annual programming initiative on a theme of social importance.
